Registration United 4 Sailing 2019 opens December 20th

The United 4 Sailing is organised in The Netherlands since 1995. More then 500 sailors from different countries will battle with each other for four weekends over the year. An inspiring event for young sailors where they can learn from the more experienced sailors. The dates for 2019 have already been published, registration will open December 20th.

The United 4 Sailing starts the season in Muiderzand on May 4 and 5. It’s been seven years since the regatta is sailed on this location and the organisation is happy to be back in Muiderzand for the 2019 season. Not only is Muiderzand a central location, but the Marina also has good facilities and there are no water plants in the Markermeer at the time of the event.

Three different locations

The second edition will be sailed on May 18 and 19 in Workum. For many sailors the perfect event to prepare for the Dutch Youth Regatta which will be sailed at the end of this month in the same location. It’s not the only United 4 in Workum this year, the third edition on September 7 and 8 also takes place at this location.

The fourth and final series of 2019 is organised in Medemblik, the weekend after the Open Dutch Sailing Championships, on September 28 and 29. A great opportunity for the participants to get used to the water in Medemblik before the finals will be sailed. For the future, the organisation aims to race in four different locations again. Workum and Medemblik will definitely stay on the calendar in the combination with the Dutch Youth Regatta and the Open Dutch Sailing Championships.

Waszp new class

A total of 13 classes is invited to the United 4 series. They are mostly classes that have been sailing on the U4 for years, except for the Waszp. This class, not to be confused with the Moth, is added for the first time. A enthusiastic group of sailors has set up a Waszp program in The Netherlands. This program is open for all types of sailors and now included in the United 4. The Waszp has a great appeal and is a spectacular class to watch and sail. Other invited classes are 29er, 49er and 49erFX, Cadet, Europe, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Laser Standard, Nacra 15, Optimist, RS-Feva and Splash Blue.
